FOREVER CLASS FIELD GUIDE
The Paladin, revisited.
Holy, Protection and Retribution give healing, tanking and melee directions. Recheck baseline blessings and your available abilities.
Returning-player checklist
- Read your current abilities and visit a trainer before planning around an old rotation.
- Choose a tree for the activity and role you enjoy. A levelling plan need not be a raid plan.
- Inspect prerequisite talents and point gates; unfamiliar combinations may be invalid.
- Review equipment stats in the current client rather than copying a Vanilla best-in-slot list.
What has changed?
Holy, Protection and Retribution keep mana, blessings and seals, with new interactions to inspect before reusing an old build.
Earlier tools to check
The beta spellbook lists Holy Strike from level 6 and Seal of Fury from level 10. The Era comparison marks these entries as additions; this is a database comparison, not a tested rotation.

Longer blessings
The maintained comparison lists Blessing of Kings at level 20 as a former talent, with a 60-minute duration in Forever. Revisit your buff routine and trainer purchases.

Seal replacement has a talent interaction
Twist of Light reduces Seal mana costs and grants an Echo when replacing a supported Seal with a different one. The next melee attack applies the replaced Seal's effects.

How we compare versions
Official class articles describe changes from original WoW. The maintained comparison database uses Classic Era 1.15.9.70003, with Season of Discovery-era tuning, rather than an untouched Vanilla client. Database-only differences below are labelled accordingly. Abilities beyond level 30 are future planning, outside the current beta cap.
Get familiar with your trees
Holy
Holy Shock and Light's Vigil are distinct tree milestones. Light's Vigil modifies your next Holy Shock on its target; read the ally and enemy effects separately.
Protection
Inspect Improved Seal of Fury, Swift Judgement and Templar's Bulwark. Use the tooltip and point gate rather than assuming a familiar name has familiar mechanics.
Retribution
Compare Seal of Command, Sacred Arbiter and Twist of Light. Deep seal interactions are future planning beyond the level-30 beta budget.
Returning from Vanilla or Classic
Check blessings and your trainer before spending points on old buff talents. Relearn seal choices and mana costs from the current spellbook.
Coming from Retail
Start with Forever's mana, seal and blessing toolkit. Do not assume that a Retail resource loop or an imported Retail build applies to these three talent trees.
Try this before your first group
- Check your blessings' current durations.
- Train Holy Strike and inspect its mana cost and cooldown.
- Read Seal of Fury before offering to tank a group.
