FOREVER CLASS FIELD GUIDE
The Shaman, revisited.
Elemental, Enhancement and Restoration support spell damage, melee and healing directions. Read the current totems and role-specific talents.
Returning-player checklist
- Read your current abilities and visit a trainer before planning around an old rotation.
- Choose a tree for the activity and role you enjoy. A levelling plan need not be a raid plan.
- Inspect prerequisite talents and point gates; unfamiliar combinations may be invalid.
- Review equipment stats in the current client rather than copying a Vanilla best-in-slot list.
What has changed?
Totems and mana still define the class, with practical management abilities and new elemental and healing milestones.
Totem management entries
The beta spellbook lists Call of the Elements and Totemic Recall at level 20. Read their current tooltips and rebuild totem binds around available abilities.

Later spell options
Lava Burst and Riptide appear as level-40 talent abilities in the maintained dataset. They are future planning beyond the current level-30 beta cap.

Totem duration and reach
The Era comparison shows several resistance totems lasting five minutes and reaching party and raid members within 30 yards. Check each totem rather than applying that rule to every effect.

How we compare versions
Official class articles describe changes from original WoW. The maintained comparison database uses Classic Era 1.15.9.70003, with Season of Discovery-era tuning, rather than an untouched Vanilla client. Database-only differences below are labelled accordingly. Abilities beyond level 30 are future planning, outside the current beta cap.
Get familiar with your trees
Elemental
Earthbound lets Earthbind Totem immobilise nearby targets when placed. Lava Burst is the deep-tree damage option in this dataset.
Enhancement
Inspect Stormstrike, Spirit Weapons and Rage of the Farseer. The latter supplies a temporary attack-speed increase; verify weapon requirements separately.
Restoration
Compare Water Shield, Mana Tide Totem and Nature's Swiftness before planning towards Riptide. Mana support and emergency healing are different decisions.
Returning from Vanilla or Classic
Audit totem duration, range and group coverage individually. Your remembered placement routine may need fewer refreshes, but positioning and the selected totem still matter.
Coming from Retail
Read Forever's own totem and mana rules. Lava Burst and Riptide are talent milestones here; their names do not mean your full Retail kit is available from the start.
Try this before your first group
- Check which totems the level-20 management tools use.
- Read a resistance totem's range and group coverage.
- Test Earthbind placement before relying on its talented immobilise.
